Multi-functional sports hall inaugurated in Hau Giang

Nhan Dan Online – The Hau Giang provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism opened a multi-functional sports hall in Vi Thanh city in the Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang yesterday.

The new hall, the largest of its kind in the province, was inaugurated to mark the 82nd anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3).

The 22,000 square metre building has a seating capacity of 2,000 and was constructed at a total cost of VND34.5 billion (US$1.6 million) to serve as a facility for many sports including volleyball, table tennis, badminton, and martial arts.

When put to use, the sports hall will contribute to the province's movement in sports development and help the locality host many sporting events at regional, national, and international levels, particularly as host to the upcoming 6th annual International Women’s Volleyball Tournament for the VTV-Binh Dien Cup which will be held in the province from February 18-26.
