History
Nhan
Dan newspaper, the Central Organ of the Communist Party of
Vietnam, the voice of the Party, State and people of Vietnam,
published the first issue on March 11, 1951 in the War Zone of
Viet Bac during the anti-French Resistance War.
Nhan Dan newspaper
continues the traditions of Thanh Nien (the Youth) newspaper
which was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and published its
first issue on June 21, 1925 and its successors Tranh Dau (the
Struggle ), Dan Chung ( the People), Co Giai Phong ( the
Liberation Flag), Su That ( the Truth).

Nhan Dan newspaper has
friendly and co-operative ties with numerous newspapers in the
world.
Nhan Dan newspaper has
always been on the frontlines of national construction and
defence, serving as the voice of the Party and State and a
reliable forum of the people during the two struggles for
national liberation and reunification and in the renovation
process for the target of "a prosperous people, a strong country
and an equitable, democratic and civilised society."
During over 20 years of
the renovation process launched by the Communist Party of
Vietnam at its Sixth National Congress in 1986, Nhan Dan
newspaper has contributed to disseminating and encouraging the
implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's
policies and laws. It has also focused on reflecting the
people's opinions, aspirations, initiatives and will and at the
same time participating in reviewing and perfecting the
renovation policy.
Publications
Currently, Nhan Dan newspaper has five different
kinds of publications including Nhan
Dan daily, Nhan Dan weekend, Nhan Dan monthly, Vietnamese Nhan
Dan Online and English Nhan Dan Online.
Nhan Dan Daily has a
circulation of about 220,000 copies per day.
Nhan Dan Weekend has 16
pages and 110,000 copies per issue. Copies are printed in Hanoi
and transferred by air, train and vehicle to localities
throughout the country.
Nhan Dan Monthly features
48 pages and 130,000 copies per issue which are printed at two
Hanoi-based printing houses and transported to other localities
by air, train and vehicles.
Nhan Dan Online
On June 21, 1998, Nhan Dan
Online was officially launched in the internet, becoming
Vietnam's first official electronic newspaper at
www.nhandan.org.vn and www.nhandan.com.vn.
Both Vietnamese and
English versions receive 800,000-1,000,000 turns of visitors per
day.

Printing houses
Nhan Dan newspaper is
printed at eight printing houses in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City,
Nghe An, Da Nang, Can Tho, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak and Dien Bien to
distribute to localities nationwide. A number of copies are
delivered abroad.
Distribution
Nhan Dan copies are
delivered through two channels: the Vietnam Posts and
Telecommunications Group and retail sale network. In 1996, as
many as 57.85 million copies were issued and reached a total of
82.74 million copies in 2007.

Advertisement:
Since July 1, 2003, Nhan
Dan newspaper has produced a four-colour advertisement
supplement attached to the daily issues. The insert is printed
at three printing houses in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City
and then distributed to political, economic and commercial
centres and industrial zones in over 20 cities and provinces.
Advertisements on Nhan Dan
publications are divided into different kinds: ads featuring
announcements, management, administration, product launches and
trademark and service promotion.
Nhan Dan Weekend and
Monthly are expected to provide more forms of ads. These
publications are companions of businesses and localities and are
familiar to readers.
Nhan Dan newspaper and its
publications have seen constant improvement and increase in
circulation. It has been always a reliable partner and companion
of businesses, agencies and people of all strata.
Nhan Dan newspaper
continues to attract more advertising, co-ordinating with others
to organise events in printed publications and on both
Vietnamese and English versions of its e-newspaper in the forms
