Nhan Dan - The Ministry of Planning and Investment of Laos and the Electricity of Vietnam International Joint Stock Company has recently signed a memorandum of understanding in Vientiane in preparation for construction of three hydro power plants in the Nam Et river, in Muong Et district, Huaphan province in Laos.

The three plants will have a total capacity of 420 MW.

As many as 20% of the electricity generated from these three plants will be supplied to the localities in Laos while the remaining 80% will be supplied to the Vietnam national grid.
