Nhan Dan Online – the Saigon Jewelry Holding Company (SJC) said that it had imported four tonnes of gold for sale.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), not only has the SJC sold over 30,000 taels of gold, a lot of other banks such as the Asia Commercial Bank (ACB), the Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint-stock Bank (Sacombank) and the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) have sold a large amount of gold according to the SBV’s instruction to stabilise the gold market.

The domestic price of gold in February 8 kept decreasing. At the opening time, the gold was bought at VND 25.28 million a tael and sold at VND 25.4 million a tael, but at 5 pm, the price of gold was put at VND 25.08 million a tael for buying and VND 25.18 million a tael for selling, a reduction of VND 220,000 a tael compared to that yesterday morning. At that time, the world price of gold was around US$1,067 an ounce.

This morning, the domestic gold price increased again. At 11 am, SJC gold price was put at VND 25.25 million a tael for buying and VND 25.35 million a tael for selling. Meanwhile, the Bao Tin Minh Chau company listed its buying and selling prices at VND 25.22 million a tael and VND 25.32 million a tael respectively.
