Caring dragon fruit trees at Ham Minh EUREPGAP Dragon Fruit Co-operative.

Nhan Dan Online - Four first enterprises in Binh Thuan have been licensed to use "Binh Thuan" as the geographical indication for their dragon fruits. Director of Binh Thuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology presented the license to the enterprises at a ceremony on October 8.

The four enterprises, specialising in producing, trading and exporting dragon fruits, are Duy Lan Dragon Fruit Farm, Hoang Hau Dragon Fruit Company Limited, Ham Minh EUREPGAP Dragon Fruit Co-operative and Bao Thanh Services and Trading Company Limited.

The four enterprises have a total 283 hectares under dragon fruit, 1,858 square metres for preliminary treatment and 450 square metres for preservation storehouses.

The geographical indication "Binh Thuan" for protecting dragon fruits produced in Binh Thuan is of great significance in developing the value of national assets and local specialties, protecting the interests of dragon fruit producers and traders.

All organisations and individuals embarking in the production and trading of dragon fruits in Binh Thuan that meet the requirements and commit to following the regulations on "Management and use of "Binh Thuan" geographical indication for dragon fruits" issued by the People's Committee of Binh Thuan will be considered to be licensed to use the indication.
