Last year saw many difficulties for the tourism sector,
including the global financial crisis, the world economic
recession and epidemic diseases. These have caused adverse
impacs on the development of Vietnam’s tourism, leading to
the decreasing number of tourists to the country. |

 Nhan Dan – The year 2009 is
considered a challenging year for the global health
protection system due to the widespread influenza of A/H1N1
throughout the world. Through the A/H1N1 flu pandemic, the
national health sector has drawn a valuable lesson in
actively deploying measures to cope with the pandemic. Also,
in such a global integration trend, the pandemic prevention
and control works need appropriate investment so as to get
ready to cope with the disease.

Dan – Although the newly-registered FDI capital in 2009 has
sharply reduced as against the previous year, the
implemented FDI capital has remained pretty high and the
foreign investment sector has continued to play an important
role in boosting the domestic economic growth. |

provinces of the central region and the Central Highlands,

salty water infiltration in the southern provinces, and
pestilent insects which have caused a lot of damage to areas
under rice nationwide. |

Dan – The stock market is a place where the medium and long
– term capital is mobilised to create the source of
development investment capital for the Government and
enterprises. However, in recent time, the market development
has seen abnormal manifestations because of the fact that
the speculative and illegal activities have destabilised the
market, adversely affecting the management of the monetary
and financial policy. |

Dan – In 2009, despite facing a lot of difficulties and
challenges, especially the global economic crisis, the
industrial sector has still maintained its growth, making a
contribution to maintaining the whole country’s economic
growth. |

announced Vietnam’s top 10 science and technology events in
2009.
The
Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) officially
announced 10 outstanding cultural, sports and tourism
activities in 2009 in the central city of Da Nang on
December 27. 
Nhan Dan – 2009 is an extremly
difficult year due to the impact of the global economic
crisis, in which investment projects in construction,
especially the national key construction projects, have been
directly affected.
