Nhan Dan Online - The domestic
stock market continued its rally today on positive economic
information. Bids were reported to be huge while offers were
small. The VN-Index of the Ho Chi Minh City exceeded 560
points while the HASTC-Index also closed above the 180 point
mark.
On the southern bourse, the
index closed up 2.45% or 13.42 points at 561.67, the highest
during the past five months.
As many as 135 stocks out of the
total 148 gainers today hit ceiling prices. Six other stocks
dropped and another six stayed unchanged.
Investors rushed to place buying
orders while others seemed to hesitate in placing selling
orders. Trading volume, thus, reduced compared to
yesterday's with some 17.75 million units traded via order
matching for VND 821 billion. Another 2.45 million units
were traded via negotiations for VND 97 billion.
The Hanoi bourse also had an
impressive gain of 6.49% (against the maximum trading band
of 7%) today, equivalent to 11.26 points to close at 184.67.
146 out of the 147 listed stocks on the bourse advanced,
most of them to the maximum. Only one stock HSC had no
trade.
As sellers became hesitated upon
the huge demands, liquidity was reported to reduce compared
to yesterday's figure with over 6.8 million units matched
for VND 337 billion.
