China-Vietnam border trade fair opens in Yunnan

Nhan Dan - The China-Vietnam border trade fair opened in He Khou in Yunnan province of China on November 26.

Enterprises of both countries are displaying products in 500 stands in the fair. These include 104 stands of 32 enterprises from 11 localities in Vietnam, showcasing such products as handicrafts, wooden products, leather and footwear...

According to organisers, during the fair, enterprises of both countries are expected to sign contracts worth up to US$100 million.

Bilateral trade turnover between Yunnan and Vietnamese localities via Lao Cai international border gate has increased from US$100 million in 2001 to nearly US$1 billion in 2007. The figure for the first ten months of this year was US$556 million.
