documentary film on dioxin in Vietnam entitled “Agent
Orange: A personal Requiem” produced in 2007 by female
Japanese director Masako Sakata and director Bill Megalos
won the Special Prize at the 26 International Environmental
Film Festival recently held in France.
The 71 minute
long documentary tells about director Masako’s husband named
G.David, a journalist and a US veteran who died 4 years ago
due to liver cancer which was the affect from the Agent
Orange during his time in Vietnam war.
According to
the director, the film not only helps to make clear the
reason leading to the environmental disaster that has never
happened before but also conveys the condemnation from the
international community for the indifference of the American
society towards pains suffered by Agent Orange victims.
