Pho (rice noodle) soup is the Vietnamese traditional dish.

A traditional Vietnamese cookery competition will take place in Hanoi from January 5 to 9.

The competition attracted the participation of 147 chefs from numerous famous hotels and restaurants across the country who will make 195 traditional dishes.

This is held to celebrate the 1,000th founding anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and 50 years of the country’s tourism industry.

Do Thi Hong Xoan, Head of Hotels Department under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said that the event is seen as a valuable opportunity for chefs to get together to exchange their experiences in the trade as well as develop traditional Vietnamese dishes.
