Archeological discovery exhibited in Phu Tho
Archeological Discovery is the name of an symposium which is now opening at Phu Tho Museum at the Hung King Temple Festival. 

The display include Son Vi Culture which is an archeological culture bearing the name of where it was discovered: Son Vi village, Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province. This display includes various stone tools of Son Vi Culture which was first discovered in 1968. Stone tools of Son Vi culture back to around 100,000 years ago. 

The symposium also introduces Phung Nguyen – Dong Dau- Go Mun- Dong Son culture which is around 2000-4000 years ago. This includes tools made from not only stone, but also brass, ceramics, animal bone and ivory.  

More than 40 relic sites of Phung Nguyen Culture have been discovered in Phu Tho province. 

Phung Nguyen Culture opened the bronze Age in Vietnam. 

In 1924, for the first time, brass objects were found in Dong Son, Thanh Hoa. Many brass objects, especially Dong Son brass drum, are exhibited at the symposium. 

Over 100 ceramic objects of 11 – 15th century of Ly – Tran – Le Dynasties are also introduced to visitors.

 

Around 1,000 artifacts from archeological discoveries in Phu Tho provinces will help viewers understand more about cultural and historical values of the Vietnamese nation.
