Actress Do Hai Yen in Pao’s
Story.
Vietnamese actress Do Hai Yen has
been selected as one of seven promising Asian movie stars at a
conference held recently in the Republic of Korea.
The conference, held within the framework of the Pusan
International Film Festival slated for October 12-20 in the
RoK, aimed to introduce Asia's movie industry to the world.
The others come from China (1), the Republic of Korea (2),
Japan (2) and Taiwan (1).
Yen gained a reputation for her role as Phuong, the woman in
the middle of a love triangle, in the internationally-hit "The
Quiet American", which was directed by Phillip Noyce.
She won the Vietnam Cinematography Association's 2005 Golden
Kite Award for best actress for her role in a film named
‘Chuyen Cua Pao’ (Pao's Story).
Two Vietnamese films, namely ‘Pao's Story’, and ‘Ao Lua Ha
Dong’ (Ha Dong White Silk), will be screened at the festival.
