The Vietnamese national football team had their first training session in Singapore on January 10 to prepare for their opening game of the Southeast Asian championship/VFF Cup on January 13, reported the Sports Daily.

The newspaper said as Dang Van Thanh had yet to arrive in Singapore, the team started their training with 21 players. Striker Dang Phuong Nam resumed a full training while Anh Duc and Cong Vinh were in a separate training for injury recover.

Cong Vinh is still doubful for the opening game with Singapore, but he is expected to return in the second group game with Indonesia on January 15.
