Hungary-based student crowned Miss Vietnam Europe 2008

Nguyen Pham Bao Quynh, a Vietnamese student in Hungary, was crowned winner of the Miss Vietnam in Europe beauty pageant in London on November 9.

The first runner-up was Bao Ngoc Anh coming from the United Kingdom, while the second runner-up spot went to Le Xuan Mai, a Vietnamese in France .

In the final night of the Miss Vietnam Europe 2008, 19 contestants from Hungary, France , Denmark and the UK showed their beauty in ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long tunic), swimsuits and evening gowns before entering the interview round.

It is the first time a beauty contest for Vietnamese girls living and working in all European countries has been organised. The winner will travel to Vietnam to engage in charity activities.

The organising board in the final night also launched a campaign to raise money for poor children with heart defects in Vietnam.

The Miss Vietnam Europe 2008 was jointly organised by the Tri Thuc Viet company, the MP Entertainment company, the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK, the Vietnamese Association and Vietnamese Students Association in the UK. (VNA)
