More Japanese
and Korean tourists are travelling to Viet Nam instead of
Thailand because of the volatile politics in that country,
according to tour companies in HCM City.
Japanese and
Korean tour companies are providing tours to Viet Nam as
compensation for their customers, although the price of a
tour to Viet Nam is US$150 higher than one to Thailand.
In related
news, travel operators taking part in a seminar entitled the
“People’s Contribution in Tourism,” said that in recent
years Da Lat, Hue, and Hoi An have done a good job in
mobilizing inhabitants to participate in tourist-oriented
festivals, especially the Da Lat flower festival, Hue
festival, and the Hoi An full moon festival.
The seminar
was held Thursday by the Association of Cities of Viet Nam
and by Germany’s Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
Homestay
tours are one of the most popular kind of tours for
