Artist
of Merit Tran Tuyet Minh held her solo piano performance in
Hanoi on October 18 as one of the activities to celebrate the
50th anniversary of the Hanoi Conservatory of Music.
Tran Tuyet Minh was one of the 200
students of fourth intake. The then classrooms were just
thatch-roofed lit with kerosene lamp in garden of Lang pagoda.
Student Tuyet Minh started her first lessons in such condition
with teachers Thai Thi Lien and Vu Thi Hien. After having
graduated in 1963, she worked for the conservatory as a
lecturer. With other piano experienced lecturers, Tuyet Minh
was one of the young lecturers who have contributed to
training students, and fostering talents for the country who
later won international prize such as Dang Thai Son and Ton Nu
Nguyet Minh. After the country’s reunification, she was sent
to Moscow for further study.
Even though she retired seven
years ago, in October 18’s performance Tuyet Minh still played
the piano very skillfully in front of a numerous colleagues
and students. She started with melodies of romantic genius
such as F.Schubert and F.Liszt. She was impressed the most
when playing the Nocturne written for Russian left-handed A.
Scriabine as Tuyet Minh and Scriabine were both lecturers of
conservatories of music.
At the end of her performance,
Tuyet Minh was surrounded with flowers of her colleagues and
students. That was a simple happiness of an artist like her
who has devoted haft of the century for the piano.
