Nhan
Dan Online- Twelve top Vietnamese and Japanese singers will
join together in a concert titled “For a Peace” which will
take place tomorrow night at the National Convention Hall,
Hanoi and on May 26 at Hoa Binh Theatre, Ho Chi Minh City.
The concert is
jointly held by the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
the Hanoi based Japan Embassy to celebrate the 35th
anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between the two countries.
The concert
will feature performance by Vietnamese star singers such as
Thanh Lam, My Linh, My Tam, Ho Quynh Huong, Trong Tan, Tan
Minh and famous artists from Japan like Masafumi Akikawa ,
Rimi Kaneku, Godai Natsuko, the band W-INDS and particularly
female singer Sugi Ryotaro who is also the Japan-Vietnam
Goodwill Ambassador and Vietnam-Japan Special Friendship
Ambassador.
The concert
will be broadcast live on VTV1 of the Vietnam Television and
later simulcast on the channel NHK of Japan Television.
Addressing the
press briefing in Hanoi this morning, Head of the UNESCO
Culture of External Relations Department of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Pham Sanh Chau said this is the first concert
in Vietnam to feature such a large number of Japanese artists
and also the first time that so many Vietnamese singers will
debut for the Japanese public.
The title of
the concert, according to the organisers, shows the aspiration
for peace for all nations in the world.
All proceeds
from ticket will go to Fund for the Victims of Agent Orange in
Vietnam.
On the
occasion, the Japan-Vietnam Goodwill Ambassador has released
a CD featuring songs by Vietnamese and Japanese singers.
Also as part of
the framework of activities to celebrate the establishment of
the two countries diplomatic relations, a Vietnam Festival
will also be held in Japan in September.
