Ten ancient dances, which were used to be performed at festivals of Thang Long many years ago, will be presented at the Ly Thai To Park next to Hoan Kiem Lake on the evening of February 24, the eighth day of the lunar new year.

According to Deputy President of the Hanoi Dancers' Association Nhu Binh, the performance is aimed at welcoming the traditional new year and preparing for the celebrations of the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi in 2010.

The performance will be presented by amateur artists aged from 16 to 80.

Traditionally, Hanoi has had more than 50 ancient dances however only about 30 of them have been preserved in surrounding areas of Ha Noi. (VNA)
