Singer Mel B will present in Vietnam to host Miss Universe

Actress-Singer and former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown, and the host of NBC’s hit show “America’s Got Talent”, Jerry Springer, will co-host this year’s Miss Universe pageant at the Crown Convention Center in Vietnam’s coastal Nha Trang city on July 14.

Both Jerry Springer and Mel-B said they were excited and honoured to co-host this year’s crowing ceremony.

Jerry Springer gained worldwide notoriety as the host of the long-running Jerry Springer Show but has also carved a political career and is now the mayor of Cincinnati City . He has won many television awards, featured in films and became a popular dancer on America ’s Dancing with the Stars.

Melanie Brown, known as Mel B from the UKs smash hit pop group the Spice Girls has also forged a career in television as a special events correspondent for "Access Hollywood". a singer and a well-known TV broadcaster. Her third album is expected to debut early 2009.

Billionaire Donald J. Trump and Phil Gurin are the executive producers for the pageant which will be televised live through the NBC network to 170 countries.

Contestants representing 80 countries and territories are judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview.  (VNA)
