International Contest "Hanoi - Your Destination 2005" to Discover Thang Long-Hanoi

1. Topic

Discovery  of historical and cultural vestiges through the archeological excavation of the royal citadel of Thang Long.

2. Content: Entrants should answer three questions as follows:

1. What periods of Vietnam's history have been identified through the artifacts found in the archeological eccavations of the Royal Citadel in Hanoi carried out in 2002-2003? Please specify them!

2. On the mound Nung (or "The Dragon's Navel") site in the Hanoi Ancient Citadel (or the Central part of the Thang Long Royal Citadel), there were consecutively three principal royal palaces. Please indicate when they were constructed, what they were called and what their names mean?

3. What do you think should be done to preserve the vestiges at the Thang Long Royal Citadel (Hanoi Ancient Citadel)?

3. General rules

- Any entry must give answers to at least one of the questions presented above.

- Contest results will be publicised on the internet and other mass media.

- An entry must include personal details of the participant: name, family name, age, occupation, residence address, phone number, fax number or email.

- Deadline: 30th September 2005 (starting from 1st May 2005).

Foreigners and overseas Vietnamese who know one of the following languages: English, Russian, French, Chinese and Esperanto.
