Vietnam has made full use of
Japan’s official development assistant (ODA) for its
small-sized projects, said Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam
Mitsuo Sakaba.
So said the Japanese diplomat at
the recent inauguration of a Japanese-built primary school
in northern Lang Son province’s Kien Moc commune.
Ambassador Sakaba was pleased to
see that school children were enjoying new learning
facilities in the new 10-classroom school.
The school was built at a cost
of US$87,000 as part of Japanese government’s non-refundable
aid programme for Vietnamese localities.
The ambassador said that the
Japanese people paid much attention to small-sized projects
because they directly impact the Vietnamese people’s daily
life, especially those in remote and underprivileged areas.
According to Ambassador Sakaba,
this year, the Japanese government will continue to provide
funding for 25-30 Vietnamese small-sized projects, worth a
total of US$2.15 million. They mainly focus on education,
healthcare and environmental protection. (VNA) |
