'One million glasses of milk' for poor children

Nhan Dan - A fund entitled 'one million glasses of milk for poor children' was introduced in Hanoi on June 30 by the Vietnam Fund for Children and the Vinamilk Company.

The fund is hoped to raise a total VND 3 billion by collecting VND 60 from each box of milk bought by consumers.

Around 50,000 poor children in 14 provinces and cities nationwide will receive 20 boxes of milk each for 10 days in July and August.

The fund, sponsored by the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Central Committee of the Women's Union, and the National Institute of Nutrition, aims to help reduce the number of malnourished children.
