Vice Chairman of southern Binh Duong province’s People's
Committee Nguyen Van Hiep on February 1 held a meeting with
religious dignitaries and representatives of the Hoa ethnic
community living in the area on the occasion of the
approaching traditional Lunar New Year (Tet).
Catholic priest Ha Van Minh, Secretary of Phu Cuong D
iocese Office, said he was optimistic at the province’s
development prospects.
The priest added that through regular meetings with
provincal authorities, he has gained deep understanding of
the Party’s and the State’s policies as well the province’s
socio-economic situation. He said the understanding is very
useful for him in helping the local Catholic community
tighten their links with local authorities and actively
participate in the construction of their homeland and
country.
Venerable Thich Minh Thien from the Binh Duong provincial
Buddhist church stressed that the annual Tet meetings
reflect the close ties between the province’s authorities
and religious churches, which will do good to the province's
