Vietnam Airlines carries out second flight to transport Bangkok-stranded passengers

Nhan Dan Online – The Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines) has finalised every procedure to carry out the second fight from Ho Chi Minh City to Utapao airport this morning in order to transport the Bangkok-stranded passengers.

The VN8513 flight took off at 2.30 am and landed in Utapao at 3.40 am. The VN8512 flight left Utapao at 6 am and landed in Ho Chi Minh City at 7.10 am.

Until 6 pm on December 1, there had been 170 passengers booking seats on the flight VN8502 from Utapao to Ho Chi Minh City. 85 of them are Vietnamese passengers, the remainder are foreigners.

Thai Airways asked Vietnam Airlines to assist in transporting Thai Airways’ passengers because current flights between Bangkok and Vietnam can not be carried out.

Vietnam Airlines agreed to transport Thai Airways’ 13 passengers from Utapao back to Vietnam and 38 other passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Utapao.

Vietnam Airlines continues to postpone regular flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok on December 2 – 3, after the authorities of Suvarnabhumi airport informed that they would continue to close this airport for two more days due to unsafe security and insecure conditions of running this airport.
