Heavy rains cause floods and landslides
in Lao Cai

Nhan Dan - Heavy rains, lasting unabatedly from June 30 to July 3, caused floods and landslides in Lao Cai province.

In Van Ban district, flood of the Nam Tu stream destroyed completely the Nam Tu irrigation work, which was built in 1996.

In addition, 57 hectares of rice, expected to be harvested soon in Minh Luong and Nam Xe communes, were flooded.

In Sa Pa district, flood made a clean sweep of houses and stables of three families, killing their cattle and poultry.

In Bac Ha district, heavy rains caused damage to roads in the remote communes of Ta Van Chu and Hoang Thu Pho.
