'Creativity of Youngsters and Children' prizes awarded

Deputy Prime Minister presents the special prize to Trinh Van Duc.

Nhan Dan Online – 75 youngsters and children's creative works which won prizes at the fourth annual 'Creativity of Youngters and Children' contest were awarded in the capital city of Hanoi September 7.

Two first prize winning works, namely the 'life-saving schoolbag' by Le Trong Hieu in Ha Nam and the 'choked shrimps treatment and discovery machine' by Nguyen Van Tuan in Nghe An,  and the special prize winning work entitled the 'corn kernel splitting automatic machine D1' by Trinh Van Duc were awarded with WIPO prizes by the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Authors of five prize wining works receive prizes.

15 out of the 75 prize wining works will be selected by the Organising Board to participate in the International Junior Technology Creativity Contest in next month in Taiwan.

Addressing the award presentation ceremony, Nguyen Thien Nhan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Training spoke highly of the successful organisation of the contest with a participation of 257 works by pupils and students from 43 provinces and cities nationwide.

The Organising Board said that Vietnam would host the seventh annual International Junior Science Creativity Contest in September, 2010.
