Free surgeries provided to Vietnamese children with facial deformities

Medical check-up for children with facial deformities

Nhan Dan Online – Four Vietnamese children with birth cleft palate will be sent to the Republic of Korea for free surgeries from February 9-17.

This is under the assistance of Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam (Doosan Vina)- a wholly-invested company by the RoK and the hospital of Chung-Ang University (CAU).

The charitable surgeries will be carried out on February 11 - 12 by doctors from CAU's hospital. The surgeries are provided to these unfortunate children who are all born into poor families.

These children will continue to receive special care in the hospital for seven days after the operation. Doosan Vina will pay all fees for these children and their parents during their stay in RoK.

Doctor Tae-Hee Bae who is the specialist in 'smile operation' in CAU, is responsible for the surgeries. He once joined programme 'Smile Operation' in Quang Ngai, Vietnam in last July.

This is the second time, RoK's Doosan, Doosan Vina and CAU's hospital offer charitable surgeries to children. This is under the commitment between Doosan Vina, CAU and the People's Committee of Quang Ngai on providing health care assistance to children with facial deformities.
