2,200 former young volunteers praised

Nhan Dan – The Central Committee of Vietnam Former Young Volunteers’ Association yesterday held the 59th anniversary of Traditional Day of the Vietnam Young Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950 – July 15, 2009) and praised 2,200 former young volunteers for recording outstanding achievements in studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan were moved to meet 120 former young volunteers with the most outstanding achievements, who were representing over 2,200 outstanding former young volunteers nationwide who sacrificed their youths for national liberation.

The Vice President praised the outstanding achievements recoded by former young volunteers in general and the Vietnam Former Young Volunteers’ Association in particular in recent years.

She emphasised that over the past few years, the Party, State and people had always paid deep attention to the young volunteer force, contributing to offsetting their losses and repaying them for their services to the country.

On this occasion, General Le Van Dung presented a baldachin by the General Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Army to the Vietnam Former Young Volunteers’ Association.
