Any abortion on gender reason may be fined up to VND 15 million, according to recently issued Decree 114-2006/ND-CP.

The maximal fine level from VND 7 to 15 millionwill be imposed on those who, on gender reason, use force or threaten to use force to push expectant mothers to abort, and those who conduct abortions in understanding that pregnant mothers want the abortion on gender reason. (VNA)
