Nhan Dan - The Ministry of Public Health has recently asked health service in provinces and cities, in particular, southern localities, that boast 90% of infected children, to take further action against hand-foot-and-mouth disease.

Local departments of public health have been asked to promote their supervision, prevention and control of the epidemic, as it is time for it to develop strongly.

Then the epidemic will temporarily cool down before occurring against in October and November.

So far, around 3,000 children have been reported to have been infected with the disease.

This figure equalled that of 2007.
