The place where people’s love and admiration for Uncle Ho kept
Nearly thirty years have gone by since the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the branch in the fifth zone; the place has become a destination for where people to come and show their love and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh.

The museum curators’ heartfelt narration at the museum make visitors feel the presence of President Ho Chi Minh, his words and action and love for the people.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Que, head of the propaganda section of the branch, said that more than 20 officials working at the branch each year provide services to between 120,000 and 140,000 people. Each of the officials working at the branch wishes to become a bridge to link the love, passion and admiration of the people in the central region toward the beloved Uncle Ho.

“We see this branch as a home of Uncle Ho and we try our best to make his visitors feel at home”, he added.

The branch recently received new items relating to the life and work of President Ho Chi Minh and at the same time got new equipment to improve multi-media presentation, including the video system for  films showing.

Many items in the museum’s branch reflected the feeing and the thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh. A copy of Nhan Dan Newspaper in the Fifth Zone was found with a sketch of the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh on the front page. The issue of the paper on August 25, 1952 carried the appeal of President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the August Revolution and the National Day.

Other items, such a yellow-starred red flag kept by mother Le Thi Hai in Khanh Hoa province from 1948 until the liberation of Nha Trang on April 2, 1975. Visitors also find a trusted bill issued with a picture of President Ho Chi Minh in it kept by Mr Nguyen Le from Quang Nam province from 1954 until the reunification day. Fighter Nguyen Thi Hai Chau, a secret agent working in Da Nang during the war, was arrested after the Tet Offensive in 1968. She made a handkerchief with two flying doves and two sentences from a poem to send out of the prison cell as a birthday gift to President Ho Chi Minh, who had passed away before the gift reached him. The picture of President Ho Chi Minh was even printed on a Buddhism teaching book and a nameplate have been held inside Co Thach pagoda in Ninh Thuan province since his death.

Many heroes and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the region visit the museum every year, especially on the occasion of his birthday, May 19. New members of the Party, when being admitted to the organization, wished that the admission ceremony be held at the museum, to get new members to study and follow the thoughts and the action of President Ho Chi Minh.

It would never be enough to express all the feelings, love and admiration of the people in the central stretch of land towards President Ho Chi Minh. One finds in that feeling a deep rooted trust in the path he has chosen for the nation. President Ho Chi Minh will for ever be our compasion on this path.
