Nearly thirty years have gone by since the opening of the Ho
Chi Minh Museum, the branch in the fifth zone; the place has
become a destination for where people to come and show their
love and admiration for President Ho Chi Minh.
The museum curators’ heartfelt narration at the museum make
visitors feel the presence of President Ho Chi Minh, his words
and action and love for the people.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Que, head of the propaganda
section of the branch, said that more than 20 officials
working at the branch each year provide services to between
120,000 and 140,000 people. Each of the officials working at
the branch wishes to become a bridge to link the love, passion
and admiration of the people in the central region toward the
beloved Uncle Ho.
“We see this branch as a home of Uncle Ho and we try our
best to make his visitors feel at home”, he added.
The branch recently received new items relating to the life
and work of President Ho Chi Minh and at the same time got new
equipment to improve multi-media presentation, including the
video system for films showing.
Many items in the museum’s branch reflected the feeing and
the thoughts of President Ho Chi Minh. A copy of Nhan Dan
Newspaper in the Fifth Zone was found with a sketch of the
portrait of President Ho Chi Minh on the front page. The issue
of the paper on August 25, 1952 carried the appeal of
President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the August Revolution
and the National Day.
Other items, such a yellow-starred red flag kept by mother
Le Thi Hai in Khanh Hoa province from 1948 until the
liberation of Nha Trang on April 2, 1975. Visitors also find a
trusted bill issued with a picture of President Ho Chi Minh in
it kept by Mr Nguyen Le from Quang Nam province from 1954
until the reunification day. Fighter Nguyen Thi Hai Chau, a
secret agent working in Da Nang during the war, was arrested
after the Tet Offensive in 1968. She made a handkerchief with
two flying doves and two sentences from a poem to send out of
the prison cell as a birthday gift to President Ho Chi Minh,
who had passed away before the gift reached him. The picture
of President Ho Chi Minh was even printed on a Buddhism
teaching book and a nameplate have been held inside Co Thach
pagoda in Ninh Thuan province since his death.
Many heroes and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the region
visit the museum every year, especially on the occasion of his
birthday, May 19. New members of the Party, when being
admitted to the organization, wished that the admission
ceremony be held at the museum, to get new members to study
and follow the thoughts and the action of President Ho Chi
Minh.
It would never be enough to express all the feelings, love
and admiration of the people in the central stretch of land
towards President Ho Chi Minh. One finds in that feeling a
deep rooted trust in the path he has chosen for the nation.
President Ho Chi Minh will for ever be our compasion on this
path.
