Nhan Dan Online – 99 first university and institute laureates in the capital city of Hanoi were commended on August 19.

This year, 20 students of them have gained the whole course's average mark of over 9; 39 others were admitted to the Party.

Apart from the high prizes in national and international exams, they have made technological and scientific innovations.

Many of them are active leaders of youth unions at different levels.

73 out of the 99 outstanding university graduates are female students, accounting for 73%.

Each of 20 remarkable laureates received a prize of VND 3 million; the remainder got a prize of VND 2 million each.

All of them has raised over VND 10 million to help children who fell victims of the storms and floods in the northern mountainous areas to continue their school – going.

This is the sixth year Hanoi has organised such a ceremony to commend the first  university and institute laureates in the capital.
