Acute diarrhoea occurs in Bac Ninh

Nhan Dan - Acute diarrhoea has occurred in Bac Ninh province, announced the local centre for preventive medicine.

The centre said that 22 people had been hospitalised, of whom 13 people were tested positive to cholera bacteria. The 13 people are in Tu Son, Tien Du, Yen Phong and Thuan Thanh districts.

The centre has prepared facilities and equipment for controlling the disease.

The fact that the epidemic has yet to be contained completely was considered as a main reason for the epidemic to break out again, apart from poor sanitation practice and unsafe food.

Dr Nguyen Van Binh, deputy head of the Department of Preventive Medicine, said that hot weather was a favourable condition for epidemics, including digestive diseases, to spread.
