600.000 veterans' households given preferential loans

Nhan Dan – The Vietnam Veterans' Association on June 24 held a conference to  evaluate the result of using preferential loans from the Vietnam  Bank for Social Policies and loans from the National Fund for Employment for  the 2003 – 2007 period.

Over the past five years, nearly 600,000 poor veterans' households have been given preferential loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies.

Hundreds of thousands of the veterans' households have escaped hunger and poverty, tens of thousands of others have had stable living standards.

Their spiritual life and income has been improved, contributing to building a new countryside, powerful administration, economic, cultural and social development in local areas, especially in extremely difficult areas and where people of ethnic minorities live.
