Nhan Dan - Acute diarrhoea
reoccurred in three localities, Bac Ninh, Haiphong and Ninh
Binh, said the Department of Preventive Medicine and
Environment, the Ministry of Public Health.
In Bac Ninh province, 31
patients were tested positive to cholera bacteria. The
figure was put at five for Haiphong.
In Ninh Binh province alone, 16
people suffered from acute diarrhoea and were suspected to
have been infected with cholera.
Since March 5, 3,700 people have
been infected with acute diarrhoea and of the figure, 600
people were tested positive for cholera.
Nguyen Huy Nga, head of the
Department of Preventive Medicine and Environment, said that
the previous out-break had yet to be completely controlled.
In addition, hot weather in
combination with unsafe food consumption and poor sanitation
practices will provide favourable conditions for the
epidemic to spread.
Therefore, the Ministry of
Public Health warns localities, where the epidemic had
occurred, of following close guidelines on food safety and
sanitation to prevent a possibility of the epidemic's
outbreaks. |
