Ho Thi Que wins Vietnam UPU letter writing contest

Nhan Dan – Ho Thi Que, 10th grader from the Bac Ninh Gifted Senior Secondary School, Bac Ninh province, won the first prize of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) letter writing contest in Vietnam.

An award presentation ceremony was held in Hanoi on June 25 by the Ministry of Information and Communication, the Post and Telecommunication Group, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Thieu nien Tien phong Newspaper.   

Around two million letters were sent to the organisers from teenagers nationwide and 71 letters were qualified for the finals.

Apart from the first prize won by Que, the organisers four second prizes, five third prizes and 29 consolation prizes to outstanding competitors.

The subject of the 37th UPU letter writing contest is ‘Writing a letter to someone to tell them why the world needs tolerance’.
