Vietnam’s National Day marked in Laos, Russia

The Embassy of Vietnam in Laos and the Lao Ministry of Information and Culture co-hosted a ceremony in Vientiane on the evening of August 31 to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Huy Quang and Politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Samane Vignaketh were prominent participants at the function.

The attendants enjoyed special art performances featuring songs and dances about the land and people of fraternal Vietnam and Laos. This is the first in a series of shows given by the Vietnamese art troupe during its prolonged tour of the neighbouring country.

The same day, the Vietnamese community in Vientiane held an art programme to mark the country’s 63rd National Day.

Two days earlier, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Vladivostok, Russia, gave a reception to celebrate the event, with the attendance of many Russian officials and friends as well as representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Far East region.

Consul General Nguyen Thi Cao Hoa highlighted great achievements Vietnam recorded over the past 63 years.

Both host and guest were delighted at fruitful development of the friendship and co-operation between Vietnam and Russia in general, as well as between their provinces and cities. (VNA)
