Prime Minister
Nguyen Tan Dung on October 31 attended the opening of the
third China-ASEAN Expo and the third ASEAN-China Business
and Investment Summit, and met with his Lao counterpart,
Bouasone Bouphavanh, and Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang
Autonomous Region Liu Qibao.
These activities are part of PM Dung's visit to China,
marking the 15th anniversary of the dialogue relations
between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN).
During the talks between PM Dung and PM Bouasone, the two
sides spoke highly of the results of recent visits to
Vietnam and Laos by senior leaders of the two countries.
The two government leaders agreed to ask relevant
ministries and agencies to work out concrete co-operation
plans in order to effectively implement high-level
commitments and agreements, initially their bilateral
co-operation plan for 2007.
The two sides decided to increase co-ordination to
prepare for the upcoming Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Prime
Ministers' Meeting, with focus on accelerating the
development of relations among the three nations as well as
boosting sub-regional co-operation.
Earlier, PM Dung joined Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and
leaders of other ASEAN member countries at the opening of
the third China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO).
The Vietnamese government leader also attended the third
ASEAN-China Business and Investment Summit.
The same day, PM Dung received the Governor of the China
Development Bank and officials of the Xin Xifang Group, and
cut the ribbon to inaugurate Vietnam's trade promotion
centre in Nanning.
In the evening, the PM gave separate receptions for the
Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Liu
Qibao, and Vietnamese entrepreneurs doing business in China.
