Co-operation between the armies of
Vietnam and Thailand, especially their joint sea patrol, has
contributed to boosting mutual ties and friendship, said
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
At the meeting with Thai Defence
Minister Prawit Wongsuwon on June 2, PM Dung said he was
pleased to see the continuous development of friendship and
co-operation between the two countries in many fields,
including economy, commerce, investment, culture, education
and training and security and defence, bringing in practical
benefits to the two peoples.
The PM wished Vietnam and
Thailand to continue exerting efforts to enhance their
co-operation for the common development of the two
countries, contributing to the development, peace and
stability in the region.
PM Dung spoke highly of the
results of talks held earlier between the Thai Defence
Minister and his Vietnamese counterpart, and urged the two
sides to sign a co-operative agreement between the two
armies.
The armies of the two countries
should continue joint sea patrol, information exchange and
co-operation in crime prevention and control training for
officers, he said.
PM Dnng stressed that Vietnam
was willing to welcome the Thai Prime Minister to visit
Vietnam as scheduled.
For his part, Minister Wongsuwon
congratulated Vietnam on its achievements in many fields. (VNS) |
