NA Chairman urges co-operation with Bali in tourism

Vietnam wants the Indonesian resort island of Bali to co-operate and share experiences with its localities in tapping potential and developing tourism, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong said.

Vietnam boasts numerous landscapes, including five world heritage sites of Ha Long Bay, Hue imperial city, My Son sanctuary, Phong Nha-Ke Bang cave and Hoi An ancient town, Chairman Trong said during his meeting with Governor of Bali province Made Mangku Pastika on March 2.

Trong praised Bali’s recent socio-economic achievements, particularly the recovery of its tourism.

Vietnam always attaches importance to friendship and comprehensive co-operation with Indonesia on bilateral basis as well as within the regional and international co-operation frameworks, he said.

The chairman urged the two sides to implement the ‘Declaration on Friendly and Comprehensive Co-operation Framework in the 21st Century’, affirming his support for co-operation between the two countries’ localities.

Governor Made Mangku Pastika expressed his impression on Vietnam’s strong and comprehensive development, particularly the people’s improved living conditions and social security. He said he wished to learn about Vietnam’s experience in natural disaster control for people’s prosperity and happiness.

During his Indonesian visit, Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong is scheduled to make a tour of several traditional batik production establishments and a batik production family. (VNA)
