An economic committee delegation
from the Vietnamese National Assembly, led by Deputy
Chairman Le Quoc Dung, ended its five-day visit to Japan on
July 2.
While in Japan, the delegation
worked with relevant committees of the Japanese House of
Representatives and Senate, the Ministry of Economy, Trade
and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure
and Transport, and the External Trade Organisation (JETRO).
It also met with the House of
Representatives’ Deputy Chairman Takahiro Yokomichi, Deputy
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hitoshi Kimura and Chairman of
the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship League President
Tsutomu Takebe.
Japanese partners expressed
their pleasure at the development of the Vietnam-Japan
relations and appreciated the economic development of
Vietnam in recent years, especially economic co-operation
between the two countries.
The Japanese side showed its
concern on the current economic issues of Vietnam such as
inflation, food export, and shared its experiences on
curbing inflation with Vietnam.
It also supported the solutions
and policies of the Vietnamese government to overcome
economic difficulties and highly valued Vietnam's
responsibility in solving food crisis of the world
