Government sets up anti-corruption department

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has signed a decision on the establishment of the Anti-corruption Department under the government inspectorate.

Under the decision, signed on October 31, the department will help the Inspector General in the prevention of corruption, and implement the authorised tasks and rights of the inspectorate.

The department has its headquarters in Hanoi and a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City.

The department's functions, tasks, rights and structure will be explained by the Inspector General.

The decision took effect on the October 31. (VNA)
