V.I.Lenin.
On the
occastion of the 92nd anniversary of the great
Russian October Revolution, To Huy Rua, Politburo member,
Head of the Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and
Education Commission and Chairman of the Central Theory
Council has written an important article. We would like to
give the following extract of it.
Mr Rua wrote:
Ninety two years ago on 7 November 1917 under the leadership
of the Communist Party of Russia (Bolshevik) headed by great
V.I. Lenin, the Russian October Revolution was brought to a
victorious end and entered the history of human kind as the
greatest event of the 20th Century, ushering in a
new epoch – the transitional epoch to socialism on the world
scale. The Russian October Revolution awakened the oppressed
nations and shone the path of development and advancement to
socialism.. The victory of the October Revolution reaffirmed
the scientific and revolutionary nature of Marxism-Leninism,
supplying the priceless historical lessons for the
revolutions for national independence and socialism. In a
not long period of time, from a moderate capitalist country,
the Soviet Union became a powerful country, the principal
force to have saved human kind from the curse of fascism,
creating conditions for a series of Eastern European and
Asian countries and then the Latin American countries to
have waged victoriously their national revolution and to
step by step transitionally advance towards socialism. The
October Revolution had broken a big part of the capitalist
world, creating conditions for the originally colonialist
countries to have won their national independence and their
right for self-determination for development.
Having been
encouraged by the victory of the October Revolution and with
the paving of the way for the new epoch created by the
revolution itself, all the nations having won their national
independence could pass through the transitional period to
socialism. The opening of the possibility and good prospect
of history could be considered as a priceless contribution
of the October Revolution to human kind. This cannot but be
said about the great services of V.I. Lenin with his
theoritical discoveries. The victory of the October
Revolution and the coming into being of the Soviet Russia
turned socialism from the theoritical doctrine into a new
socialist society. From here capitalism was negated
as far principle was concerned and it was for that
reason that all the originally colonial and backward
nations, which still had the pre-capitalist relations on the
way of their development, could advance transitionally to
socialism bypassing capitalism. National independence in
close association with socialism had become objective trend
of development in conformity with historical - natural logic
which had been pointed out by classicists of
Marxism-Leninism and President Ho Chi Minh had early
recognised it as the development path of the Vietnamese
revolution. Judging the October Revolution, President Ho Chi
Minh confirmed: “Like the bright sun, the October
Revolution has shone all the continents, awakening millions
and millions of the oppressed and exploited people on the
earth. In the history of human kind, there has never been
such a revolution of great and profound significance”.
The Russian
October Revolution is a source of great encouragement to the
Vietnamese revolution. Having followed the path charted by
the October Revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam
founded and trained by President Ho Chi Minh raised high
right from its nascency the flag of national independence
and socialism and led its people to launch the successful
1945 August Revolution, conducted two resistance wars and
defeated two big French and US imperialists, taking the
whole country to advance to socialism, firmly defending the
national border sovereignty and fully implementing the noble
international duties; by starting the renewal work of the
country, it has recorded great achievements of historic
significance. In so far as the nature and trend of objective
development of history in the 20th Century, the
victory of the Vietnamese revolution in the past 79 years,
first of all, should go to the victory of Marxism-Leninism
creatively applied and developed by the Communist Party of
Vietnam to the specific historical conditions of Vietnam.
This victory had the profound and direct source from the
influence of the Russian October Revolution. This is the
result from the profound awareness of the trend and
objective law of the historical development, of the great
strength of the working class, the labouring people and all
the oppressed and exploited people who had been awakened,
assembled and united under the leadership of a new type of a
Party – the genuine revolutionary party of the working class
nature, striving to the end for the victory of socialism and
communism. President Ho Chi Minh reaffirmed: “As a
Vietnamese saying goes, ‘When you drink water, you must
remember its source’. The more we think about the shameful
days of losing the country, remembering each stage of the
revolutionary struggle full of sacrifices and hardships but
also full of glorious victories, the more the Vietnamese
working class and labouring people are penetrated with great
services of V.I. Lenin and the October Revolution”.
After giving
some general outlines of the role of the Russian October
Revolution towards the revolutionary movement in the world
and Vietnam, Mr Rua deals with the struggle against the
wrong, hostile viewpoints to protect the fruits of the
October revolution and defend the construction of the
socialist Fatherland of Vietnam at present.
The fall of
the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe is only the fall of a
model of socialism in the process of reaching the objectives
of building a socialist society. It is not synonymous and
homogeneous with the end of socialism in its capacity as an
ideology, a goal, a new type of a socialist society
belonging to the socio-economic form of communism which the
whole human kind is striving to reach. In the process of
building socialism, each country has a model to choose for
its own. The socialist trends has been vigorously developing
the world in the early years of the 21st Century
and it has proven to the clear-sighted remarks of President
Ho Chi Minh: “The October revolution has opened up the
road of liberation for all the nations and for the whole
human kind, starting a new epoch in history, the
transitional epoch from capitalism to socialism in the whole
world”
“The great
achievements of socialism over the past 90 years,
particularly the achievements in the renewal work of the
socialist countries in recent years, have all the more
proven to the superiority of socialism, the creative force
and the renewal capabilities and the contributions of the
socialist countries to peace, national independence,
democracy, civilisation and social progress. The spirit of
the October Revolution has encouraged all of us to display
the strength of great unity of the nation, continue to
advance forward on the renewal path, build and protect the
socialist Fatherland of Vietnam for the noble objectives of
a prosperous people, powerful country, an equal, democratic
and civilised society”, Mr Rua concludes. |
