President Nguyen Minh Triet urged
Binh Duong province to develop high-tech industries and pay
due attention to remote and isolated areas while visiting
the southern locality on February 8.
To that end, the Binh Duong workforce should develop its
trade skills to meet global requirements, said the State
leader while sending his best congratulations to the
province’s people on the occasion of the coming Lunar New
Year Festival.
In addition, Binh Duong should further boost services
especially in finance, banking and insurance, to make them
accountable for larger role in the province’s economy.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Nguyen Hoang Son,
chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, briefed Triet
about socio-economic achievements of Binh Duong over last
year.
The provincial economy reportedly grew 10.3% last year.
Despite impacts of the global economic crisis, Binh Duong
raked in US$6.9 billion from exports in the year, up 5.8%
from 2008. (VNA) |
