The Ministry of Public Security
held on October 10 a conference in order to launch a drive to
ensure security for the 14th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (APEC
14), with the participation of high-ranking police officers in
northern provinces and cities.
Addressing the conference, Senior
Lieut. General Le The Tiem, Deputy Minister of Public
Security, stressed that the requirement to ensure security for
the summit has set a heavy task for the police force,
particularly when the social situation becomes more complex
between now and the year's end.
He asked police units in
localities to work out plans for fighting underworld
criminals, organised crimes, drugs, and criminals involved in
corruption, smuggling and trade frauds.
More efforts are needed to ensure
the law and order, contributing to the success of APEC 14,
said the Deputy Minister. (VNA) |
