Vietnam and UK eye broadened judicial co-operation

Nhan Dan/VNA - Minister of Public Security Le Hong Anh and visiting Secretary of State for Justice of the UK Jack Straw on September 12 signed an agreement on prisoners’ transfer after their talks in Hanoi.

During the talks, the two ministers focused on the orientation and measures to further co-operation in issues related to migration, organised crimes and prison management. They also agreed to push for the signing of an agreement on judiciary assistance.

Minister Anh appreciated the significance of the UK official’s visit in the context that the two countries’ relations have been broadening in various fields, including political, economic and national security.

Secretary of State for Justice Jack Straw also noted the intensified co-operation between the two countries in fighting crimes, maintaining social order, and improving capacity for the law enforcement staff.
