Hungary wants to further foster
its traditional friendship and long-term co-operation with
Vietnam in all aspects, particularly in animal husbandry,
education and training, and tourism, stressed a special envoy
of the Prime Minister of Hungary.
Medgyessy Peter was speaking at a
meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung in
Hanoi on March 19 as part of his working visit to Vietnam.
The special envoy discussed the
current socio-economic situation with PM Dung and conveyed an
invitation from the Hungarian Prime Minister to the host as
well.
At the meeting, PM Dung expressed
hope that Hungary will continue to assist Vietnam in economic
development, education and training, and other areas.
The multi-faceted co-operation
between the two countries has experienced positive
developments, but the scale and value of economic-commercial
ties have not reached their potential nor matched the fine
political relations, said PM Dung.
Two-way trade turnover between
Vietnam and Hungary was only US $56 million in 2006.
PM Dung said that the two sides
need to further create favourable conditions for relevant
agencies, organisations and enterprises in both countries to
work out concrete measures to tap each other’s potential and
strength, therefore bringing relations between the two
countries, particularly economic co-operation, to a new
height. (VNA) |
