Vietnam will become a full member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) on January 11, 2007, said WTO Director General Pascal Lamy in his diplomatic note sent to Vietnam’s permanent mission in Geneva, Switzerland.

The protocol on Vietnam’s WTO accession, signed in Geneva on November 7, 2006, will come into effect on Jan. 11, 2007, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will become a full WTO member the same day, the diplomatic note said. (VNA)
