Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh affirmed
Vietnam's ongoing policy of placing importance on relations
with Cambodia while receiving Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation
Hor Namhong in Hanoi on October 24.
He also affirmed that Vietnam will
do its best to work together with Cambodia to strengthen and
boost their relations under the motto "good neighbours,
traditional friendship, comprehensive co-operation and
long-term sustainability" for the good of each nation and for
the sake of peace, co-operation and development in the region
and the world.
The Party leader congratulated the
Cambodian people on their accomplishments made over the past
years and wished them new and greater successes in building
their nation of peace, neutrality, non-alignment, prosperity,
and in establishing the friendship with all countries -
especially with its neighbouring countries.
The Party leader took the occasion
to express thanks to the Cambodian people for their support
and assistance to Vietnam.
He asked the Cambodian deputy PM
to convey his regards to King Norodom Sihamoni, former King
Norodom Sihanouk and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk,
and leaders of the Senate, the National Assembly and the
Government of Cambodia.
Deputy PM Hor Namhong reiterated
Cambodia's desire to constantly bolster and develop the
friendship and traditional co-operation with Vietnam.
He said he was impressed with the
great achievements of Vietnam as a result of the renovation
process and expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State,
and people for their support and assistance .
He also expressed belief that the
Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Communist Party
of Vietnam, would work towards industrialising and modernising
the country to realise the goals for prosperous and strong
country as well as a just, democratic and civilized society.
The same day, Deputy Prime
Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung also held a working session with
Deputy PM Hor Namhong. (VNA)
Vietnam vows to intensify co-operation with Cambodia
The Vietnamese government will do
its utmost to further intensify the friendly relations and
all-around co-operation between Vietnam and Cambodia, affirmed
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
PM Dung was receiving a delegation
from the Cambodian Royal Government, headed by Deputy
PM-cum-Minister of Foreign Affairs and International
Co-operation Hor Namhong, in Hanoi on October 24.
The PM spoke highly of the visit
to Vietnam by the delegation, which he said would help promote
the solidarity between the two countries, as well as the two
peoples.
PM Dung stressed that the recent
years have witnessed the remarkable development and expansion
of the friendship and co-operation between Vietnam and
Cambodia, which were demonstrated by a number of exchanges of
high-ranking visits between the two countries, as well as
their increasing mutual assistance.
For his part, the Cambodian deputy
PM informed his host on the results of talks held with his
Vietnamese counterpart, deputy PM Pham Gia Khiem, and pledged
to promote the implementation of agreements signed between the
two sides.
PM Dung applauded the results of
the talks and suggested the two sides work closely with each
other so as to finalise the installation of landmarks by 2008.
The two countries should also
increase their commercial activities in a bid to reach US $2
billion worth of two-way trade revenue by 2010, implement
agreements on rubber growth and processing, minerals survey,
and construction of hydroelectric power plants on Se San
river, PM Dung added. (VNA)
PM urges Vietnam-Cambodia natural resources
co-operation
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has
urged the ministries of natural resources and environment of
Vietnam and Cambodia to speed up exchanges of experiences and
to co-operate in training personnel.
PM Dung made the appeal while
receiving visiting Cambodian Minister of Land Management,
Urbanisation and Construction Im Chhun Lim in Hanoi on October
24.
He said that the two ministries
should continue to co-ordinate in building projects, in which
Vietnam has the potential for and Cambodia has the demand for.
The PM stated that the Vietnamese
Government will do its best to boost the comprehensive
co-operation between the two governments for the benefits of
their people.
Minister Im Chhun Lim expressed
his wish to bolster co-operation with Vietnam in planning,
management, allocation and use of land. (VNA)
Vietnam co-operates with Cambodia in building terrain map
Vietnam will help Cambodia build a
terrain map and implement a project on restoring the standard
altitude network of Cambodia, said Minister of Natural
Resources and Environment Mai Ai Truc.
The ministry's officials on
October 24 worked with a delegation of the Cambodian Ministry
of Land Management, Urbanisation and Construction, led by Im
Chhun Lim, Politburo member of the Cambodian People's Party
and Cambodian Senior Minister.
This first official ministerial
visit aims to promote co-operative relations between the two
ministries and exchange experiences on policies, land
management and urbanisation.
The two ministers also agreed on
other matters of priority including land management, public
availability of reports on land value, information on land
planning and real estate.
Between October 25 and 27, the
Cambodian delegation will work with officials of the Ministry
of Construction, Hanoi and Quang Ninh province to inquire into
the policies on land, urbanisation and development planning. (VNA) |
