Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieut enant General Nguyen Huy Hieu said Vietnam and Indonesia have witnessed developments in their defence relations in recent years.

Hieu made the remark in Hanoi on August 25 during his meeting with the visiting vice chairman of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defence, Communication and Information under the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sidarto Danusubroto.

Vietnam and Indonesia have boosted personnel training and the exchange of visits by delegations in national defence and two navies will conduct joint sea patrols in the future, the deputy minister also said.

Vice Chairman Sidarto thanked Hieu for his reception. He said in his capacity at the Indonesian House of Representatives, he would work to strengthen the long-standing traditional solidarity and friendship between the two parliaments, governments, armies and peoples. (VNA)
